After another hectic week.

I am getting back on track and this will be one big appropriation post.

Some time around today, actually marks 6 months since one great decision was made — to quit my 7 years in corporate and start my journey in fashion. Funny how your brain works when you feel at your lowest.

It was a rainy day in London in February, and I was making a mental note of making a list of top 5–7 things I love, can pursue, and which will bring me income combined with happiness. The plan was to get home and make a cup of tea to think and write things down, but my overstimulated cells couldn’t just let it go, and I began thinking (out of curiosity, of course) what would be number 1.

Not even 10 seconds went by, when the word fashion appeared with a trail of what part of the fashion I’d like to cover, name, where to study, strategy and the vision of the brand, and last but not least, how I can help others with it.

as I if I got hit by a truck of creativity

What I am trying to say, is that none of it would have been possible without you, gentle reader. Business is nothing without consumers, and goodness, I love mine ❤

You inspire me, you make me want to work harder to bring you all the knowledge and some more on top of it. You make my creativity work overtime but never burnout. Because it is never boring with you. It is never simple, it brings me joy not change you, but to help you open your own eyes to see how beautiful you are. And that you already have all the tools needed to present yourself to the world as you wish to be seen. And in my experience, we all want to be seen based on what’s in our souls.

You souls are so beautiful and gentle. Thank you for trusting me to hold your hand and make your soul sparkle to the whole world to see.

For some of you who don’t know me that well, when I was around 6 or 7 years old, I was asked who I wanted to be when I grow up. My answer was — teacher. Somehow, I eneded up teaching little kids (based on my uni degree, I am more than qualified to do so, before you come for me), and I quit because I thought it was not for me, yet here I am, teaching beautiful people to feel even more confident by just digging a little deeper into themselves. Life is funny like that. We all have certain perspectives and understandings of what teaching or any other profession should be, completely forgetting that it is all on a spectrum. And so is fashion.

My weekly fashion/science/industry tip would be a long-ass list of fashion documentaries put together by runway Vogue writers and this is exactly what will be on my watch list (it is time for me to get back to documentaries and recover from Tiger Kind once and for all).

Fashion tip of the week:

  1. Select one colour that you love (outside of white, black, grey, beige).

  2. Think of an item of clothing or accessories you would like to get to incorporate into your life (perhaps that is currently missing in your wardrobe).

  3. Find the item in the brightest almost neon-ny colour you picked online within brands in your budget. I’ll be sharing some of interesting items next week on my IG — don’t miss out.

  4. Think of ways you can have this items in at least 5–7 different outfits.

Result — you now have a Statement piece in your wardrobe.

Colour is one of the easiest ways to incorporate Statement to any outfit. If you want to learn more — feel free to book Personal Styling (Style DNA) to get individual style card that is created precisely for you.

And if you are just on a hunt for a basic item (like a tee) that is quirky, sassy, and just projects your inner animal — Your Savage Soul is the brand to go. This is a small business that is owed by two neurospicy gals that brings Savage into your life.

In conclusion, I just want to say a huge thank you to everytone who supports me, my crazy ideas, and helping me making them a reality. Even if you are simply just liking all my posts — I appreciate You!

That’s all.

Okay, love you, bye xo

Your slightly nonchalant fashion stylist,

Aya x
