Fashion is one of the strongest ways to quietly send a message, protest, speak up loud without saying a word

Buanas dias, everyone!
The time my degree in Spanish can come in handy. As a matter of fact, I do have a degree in the Spanish language; however, that personality of mine exists under heavy influence of alcholoc and sadly for many, I am sober at the moment. That time I was living in Madrid for 10 months – I was a local. Still got the accent though.

My whole personality of mine for the following week is going to be around the Super Bowl Bad Bunny performance. For obvious reasons, fashion, politics, and revolutionary spirits in me.
Wow, where do I even begin?
First things first, before this morning, I spent two miserable days in bed with a headache and loads of sleep. The definition of planets changing their literal course a week or so before Lunar NY.
Now let’s unpack the performance of the year. Bad Bunny is a Pisces man (the only one I would get on with, iykyk, as kids say nowadays), and what a statement he made with his half time perfomance. As a baddie myself, who been present and active during at least 2 revolutions before I hit 25 years old, I can tell you with confidence that you cannot break down people who stand strong with love inside of them and appreciation for humanity.
Okay, before we move forward, please watch the halftime show.
It’s okay if you watched it already, watch it again.

We deserve this Monday to start with love and tears in your eyes from joy. Due to the unspeakable beauty of it all. Okay, first things first, I think all of us millennials were healed a bunch from the insideout when that Gasolina started playing. The dancing, the walking trees, the whole thing was a big wholesome party. The party I felt invited to, the party I felt as a part of. And mind you, I am Eastern European girlie all the way in London.
Let’s just say I understood nothing and everything at the same time.
The actual wedding!!! I was screaming because the way those two were looking at each other, I KNEW it was the real deal. And that kid is sleeping on three chair. I know a lot of people were saying that this is the most latin coded thing, but I will take it a bit further and say it was “third-world-country-coded”. I spent a lot of nights in my childhood, knocked out on the self-made chair bed, while my parents were enjoying their youth and partying like there was no tomorrow.
The details were immaculate. All from the set design to the fashion. Of course, we’re going to cover the fashion. Hello?
It did look like Bad Bunny was wearing the bulletproof vest yet again. For unfortunate yet obvious reasons. But it was so well blended with the American football uniform. It looked like he was ready to run and do things that they do in that football thing.
Speaking of players. I love watching those little fashion moments when they arrive at the game. Mini runways, and I am here for it. Of course majority of them had their well-styled drip or very chic, simple fits. BUT!
I said that before and will never stop saying that fashion is one of the strongest ways to quietly send a message, protest, speak up loud without saying a word. And just like that, I learn who Mack Hollins is. ICONIC. POLITICAL. LOUD.

We love to see that. And the huge billboard with the most true statement there is. The whole thing felt like a love letter.
But of course, my heart melted the most when he gave his Grammy to his younger self.

Like, come on, that is the biggest thing there is. Whatever we do at this point should uncover all the fun and goofiness we experienced as children. That’s the key, in my opinion. So I highly encourage you to dress however you want this week. Make a statement, make yourself happy as a little kid you once were. Don’t let this harsh adulthood that is so strongly rooted in our daily lives (recently mostly caused by dickheads) convince you that happiness doesn’t exist. Because it does. In small things that bring you joy. A piece of chocolate cake, a very safe biceps, and an outfit you wanted to wear for the longest. This is the time.

After all, Bad Bunny isn’t that bad, like at all. And as he said, believe in yourself. Your life depends on it.
Okay, this was short and sweet. Go enjoy your week. In the meantime, I will be sending tons of emails for LFW. As always, I will keep you updated on how it all will go.
Now onto the honourable mentions this week:
Brand to pay attention to this week: PREE Hats
Book of the week: Kings of Kearny by Navessa Allen (yet another dark romance, don’t come for me, they are just easy to read/listen to).
