And once it’s easy to breathe, it gets easier to do everything else

Okay, this is happening, nobody panic.
Apparently, the whole 14-year-old karmic cycle for me is ending literally tomorrow.
14 years is basically my entire adult life. That’s how long I’ve been single after leaving 3-years old relationship, this is how long I have been truly losing myself and discovering who I am all over again. In that particular order.
The time has been had, and gosh, I am ready for this chapter to be closed and write a book on all those experiences or something. Because, truly, a lot of those stories are so unhinged, no wonder my humour matches, but also, some stories make me question how I did not die. Literally.
Yet, it seems, someone out there who is responsible for all my karmic lessons or whatever fucked up. Because the last 45 years of January 2026 were beyond weird. It feels like someone out there forgot about one thing I needed to go through/learn, and instead of me having those karmic experiences and learn my lessons throughout 14 years, making me go through them all at once these past few months. Love that for me.
But my brain truly now believes that on Monday, the 26th of January, I will be waking up as a completely fresh version of myself. I will keep you posted on how that goes, but I would imagine that it will be at least easier to breathe. And once it’s easy to breathe, it gets easier to do everything else.
Right?

It feels like the end of an era. A messy but so funny era. And a new era of the unknown begins. Even though I will be taking the best parts of 2016 and improve it for further extraordinary fun purposes. And even though the unknown is often referred to as something purely terrifying in the linear perception of time, somehow, the unknown has never let me down in the most beautiful way.
I encourage you to look at it the same way. Also, I know a lot of people hate change, hence the unknown being scary and stuff, but change is good. Even if we don’t see it right away or feel it at first. But I think it has more to do with surrender than anything else.
Earlier this week, I had an amazing friend share with me how a little outfit for her work party this year that I helped her to style made her feel good about herself and how amazing she felt dressing up for the occasion. Especially in comparison to last year, when she felt depressed and had zero desire to even go to the thing.
It made me think about how we all see change as this massive snowball that is attacking us (not necessarily in a bad way, though), instead of paying attention to smaller things that influence the big change.
Like your little outfit, or decision to dress up today, and then again tomorrow, and the day after that, and the day after that, you get the gist. Or how waking up 30 minutes earlier gives you room to breathe and start the day relaxed. If you’ve been reading these edits of mine, you already know I am all about building new habits, especially this January. No matter how tired I am, I wake up every morning and leave my house for a walk at 7 am. Minus one day when I woke up in moral trenches.
Hence, it is okay to slip up every now and then, as long as you try again tomorrow.
The same goes for every little thing that you do for yourself that makes you feel alive. Because are you even yourself without those little weird quirks of yours?
I have been feeling philosophical a lot lately.
